Excellent location in old part of Lyon, close to facilities, restaurants, transport; walking distance to city centre. Staff very helpful.
Hotel had not received our booking even though we had a confirmed booking from Booked.net.

Really, what's not to like? Our room had an arched window leading out onto a balcony with an unrivalled view of vieux lyon. Excellent to stand out on day or night and marvel at the basilica, or the jigsaw of rooves in between, or even just people-watch the bars on the street below. A fridge with complimentary water coke and orange in each hallway is an inspired idea and saves constant trips to the tabac before daytrips. Staff were very welcoming, relaxed yet attentive and of course spoke very good English though were happy to allow you to try and communicate in your however broken French. The building itselfl has bags of cool between the deep chairs of the reading room style foyer and restaurant to a terrace for sunning yourself, reading or even sitting down to a self catered meal. Just lovely. We were delighted!

This hotel is ideally situated to visit and enjoy the old city (Vieux Lyon), although also close to the city Center and to other touristic attractions. It is originally decorated with a clear nostalgia to the 50's schooltimes. nice terrace on the first floor to enjoy the nice weather, with private terraces for some rooms at this floor.(Not always enjoyable when people come in the late evening (night) and make a lot of noise at the open part of the terrace.
Less positive was the noise of the people at the terrace and the not always helpful people at the income desk, as we had to deal with an invasion of ants in the bathroom.

The hotel is very interesting and follows a particular style, the personal is friendly and the services offered perfect. Excllent location to discover Lyon. Excellent price quality relation.

We loved the novelty of Le College and its location was superb within the older part of the city and one street from one of the main rivers. Just a stones throw and within site of a main but not busy railway station St Pauls. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the rooms very clean. We would stay there again. My daughter is a baker in France and her partner the patisserie chef at their own bakery, they agreed with us that the breakfast was very good.
we could see that the wallpaper and decoration was not going to last long (in our rooms) so I would like to believe that the management ensure it gets a lick of paint regularly to ensure that it always looks fresh. I dont want to say too much to spoil the surprise for new visitors.

Staff were really helpful. Room and bathroom bright and spacious. Comfortable crispy white beddings. Unlimited supply of free water and soft drinks. Nice decor with special theme.
The location is great, but it can be really noisy at night, as there are pubs and restaurants around the area.

Free water/soft drink, and a great location
-
Location in Old Lyon and themetic decoration.
Noice from outside after midnight. Simple room with only very basic amenities.(No safe,no slippers.) It is rather a 3 star hotel.

The location is very good for visiting old Lyon. The receptionist Elaine was very helpful with locations and restaurant recommendations. The refrigerator on our hall had free soft drinks and water.
We asked for a quiet room and we placed on the front of the hotel in front of a noisy restaurant where there were loud voices until the wee hours of the morning. We were told that there was not reserved parking, that we should have asked for it on our request (which we did) and were told if we had they would have contacted us (which they did not). Elaine, the receptionist eventually gave us a parking space on the street in front of the building in order to compensate. We were also promised a room with a bath which had only a shower.

I liked that it was a funky type of boutique hotel. Loved the decor, old school it was fun to see the old desks and school memorabilia. I would stay here again and I have left a favorable comment on Booked.net. The only thing is that I thought that my breakfast was included with the room, and 27 euros was very expensive for croissant, coffe and orange juice. Perhaps, when checking in I should have been told that the room did not include breakfast. Many thanks anyway.
Not being told that breakfast was not included in the price of our room.. Breakfast was very expensive at 27 euros for croissant, coffee and orange juice..

We enjoyed the original design and unique ambience and the location of the hotel.
It was very noisy at night. In addition, the hotel is quite overpriced for the standard it provides for.
-
Balcony, view, terrace
Room a bit small; decor amusing, but stark. Difficult to maneuver in the garage.
-
Actually,it was busy during our stay, On the other hand, when we have breakfast, it was gonna be happy.I Like it.
-
Location, view from windows, decoration
